For Suzanne Walsh something about self expression has been there from a young age. Abstract painting and drawing have been the path, an opportunity to enable the inner workings of a curious and imaginative psyche to spread their wings and fly. Consistently this has been a part of her life, a life driven to create and as well connect with others.
Drawn to artistic expression led to attending OCA (now OCADU) for a brief period in time, as a sequence of events then led to changing course, developing a professional career co-founding a multifaceted historical lighting and restoration business. Fast forward 35 years with this successful endeavor, which did provide creative, and imaginative opportunities.
Suzanne now has the time to more fully express her artistic side that vitally informs who she is. Nature and the wider universe speak deeply, and they continue to influence the artistic process to a great degree.
Though primarily self taught, Suzanne participates in a variety of courses and workshops including Haliburton School of the Arts and Design and Toronto School of Art to grow her painting practice. Painting intuitively, she is enthusiastic about working with a variety of techniques, mediums, and surfaces, building up layers, allowing the paint to flow, and brushwork to reveal what is in her psyche, her internal life. Enjoying the process immensely.
Interests vary from music/jazz appreciation, to hiking, travelling, and camping across North America convening with nature.
Thank you for taking the time to understand what propels the creative process.
